„The task of the environment is not,to mould the child, but to allow him to reveal himself.”
Maria Montessori

Respect and the acceptance of each child is the foundation of our pedagogical work. We want the child to enjoy coming to our facilities and to feel comfortable.

Every child has its own personality and our pedagogical actions are oriented towards this. The non-formal education processes in our facilities are adapted to the individual learning of each child without pressure to perform. The focus of support is on the children’s strengths and on the greatest possible equality of opportunity within the framework of non-formal education.

The learning environment in our facilities is designed in such a way that children experience stimuli for independent discovery and exploration. With regard to everyday challenges, the children are encouraged to be independent.

“Grass does not grow faster, when you pull on it.”
African proverb

Under the aspect of participation, the child’s opinion is heard and respected as an independent individual. In this way, the child experiences democratic structures and increasingly takes on responsibility.

In everyday pedagogical life, this is reflected in an attitude of respect towards the children and in the ability to conduct empathetic dialogues with the children.

A structural anchoring is found through the formation of various (children’s) committees, through the integration of various coordination and decision-making procedures and through the development of a constitution (formulation of rights) for children by the professional staff.

“The freedom of our children has as its limit the community, because freedom does not mean doing what you want, but being the master of yourself.”
Maria Montessori

In everyday  life at the SEA Päiperlék,  this also means :

  • Listening to and informing each other
  • Finding ways to realise different ideas together
  • Supporting children in formulating their ideas and wishes
  • That participation can only work in the quadrilateral of responsibility between children, professional staff, legal guardians and the responsible institution
  • Taking all opinions seriously
  • That negotiation processes must be transparent and encouraged by adults

In addition, the entire team has drawn up a constitution in which concrete rights for the children in our facilities are formulated. With the signature of all employees, they commit themselves to respecting these rights.

In our houses, we provide the children with reliable relationships, emotional suuport and trust.
